Congratulations to owners The Musley Bank Partnership. Pythagoras won the biggest race of his young career, scoring by a neck in the Listed Silver Tankard Stakes at Pontefract under great ride from jockey Paul Hanagan.

He was settled close up on outer and was ridden when switched to near side. He took the lead over a furlong out and despite edging left and being hard pressed inside the final yds he kept on well to win his third race this season and his biggest to date.

Firewater got his first win of the season up at Ayr on Thursday, scoring by three quarters of a length under a determined ride by apprentice jockey Billy Garritty.

He was settled close up and asking for an effort to chase down the leader over three furlongs out. Congratulations to owner breeders Norman and Helen Steel.

Imperial Butterfly finally broke her maiden at the sixth time of asking under a perfectly judged ride by jockey David Nolan. She raced near side and tracked the leader.

He also trained Queen Kindly a daughter of Frankel to Group 2 success in the Lowther Stakes at York. Ribchester continued his Group 1 success in with victory in the Lockinge at Newbury, the Prix du Moulin and he broke the track record in the Queen Anne at Royal Ascot.

He won the Gimcrack Stakes for the first time with Sands Of Mali. Bengali Boys won the Wetherby Super Sprint and Darkanna the Redcar Trophy.

In he sent out winners — there was Group 3 success for Mr Lupton in the Trophy Stakes at Newbury. Forest Ranger picked up the Group 2 Huxley Stakes and Sands Of Mali picked up the full bag with Group 3 success in the Prix Sigy, the Group 2 Sandy Lane and Group 1 success in the Champion Sprint Stakes at Ascot.

In the space of less than 20 years, Fahey has become one of the country's leading trainers with more than horses on his books.

For 12 years, Paul Hanagan was the stable's number one jockey , twice winning the British flat jockey championship , before leaving to take up a position as retained rider with Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum.

Hanagan returned to Musley Bank in Jockeys include Tony Hamilton, Jack Garritty, Paddy Mathers, Dave Nolan, Connor Murtagh and Sebastian Woods.

He won the Group Two Greenlands Stakes at the Curragh last year but picked up a penalty for that which made it very tough for him. His work has always been exceptional and I just put last season down to the little setback he had in Dubai.

Over nine furlongs in the Strensall at York we rode him to get it which was crazy really as he definitely stays.

We drop him back into a and he wins. He needs things to fall right and is a Jekyll and Hyde character for no obvious reason.

He had a good season last term. We did his wind having been extremely disappointed with him and while it took him a while to get his confidence, he did come good.

He had some good form as a two-year-old and the fact he got down to 65 was incredible really. It took a while to get the confidence back but it came.

Big, backward horse last year who has matured well and will progress into a decent handicapper. I like him too. He was immature last year and will progress.

He won his maiden at Pontefract last season. He was backward and we minded him last year and we were delighted to see him win. He could progress.

I have a few of his string that I have chosen as likely candidates for the Winners Enclosure including Benjie, Ivory Charm and Grise Lightening.

All three are entered this week and are showing signs of being able to win sooner than later. So keep Richard Fahey on your side this coming week. Our third trainer to consider is Jeremy Scott who had a slow start to the season but is now in the form of his life having had 23 winners from a relatively small string of horses.

Strike rate overall is seventeen per cent so after the slow start is taken into account that is pretty decent.

Jeremy has quite a few entries and I like the look of four of them but I do not know if they will actually run… There lies the problem. Should Jeremy choose the races I like then I think all four could have a chance.

They are Chance It, Garrane, Our Dots Baby and Native Robin. But you need to see the entries, then the declarations and access in your own mind whether you like the chance of the horse or not… if not then leave it.

This week High Roller has given…. Beverley racecourse in the East Riding of Yorkshire is in the spotlight on Saturday when the Beverley Bullet Sprint Stakes is live on ITV.

It must be said the racing is ordinary this week and there is a lull in the Flat season before the St Leger, Arc and Champions Day over the next seven weeks.

The Beverley Bullet is a listed race but the open nature of the contest makes it akin to a handicap.

There are six runners with Racing Post Ratings from to which suggests there is no outstanding contender in a tight race. The race is open to horses aged three and older.

In its 14 year history there have been winners ranging from aged three to ten. There are allowances for three-year-olds and fillies and mares and penalties for Listed and Group race winners.

Kimberella is a male horse aged seven so carries the maximum weight. His back-up runner is a three-year-old filly so carries the lowest weight in the race.

However, even carrying nine pounds less than Kimberella the horse does not have the ability and form to beat her stable mate. Fahey trains at Malton in North Yorkshire which is 30 miles from Beverley which makes it a local track.

He is an Irish trainer who has made Yorkshire his home so it will mean a great deal to win one of the biggest races in the county. Fahey trains the Group 1 winner Ribchester for Godolphin but still appreciates the smaller pickings at a track that is near to his Yorkshire base.

Ribchester is a mile specialist and one of the highest rated horses in the world over tat distance.

Fillies have won four of the last five Arcs and Enable is the odds-on favourite to make it five from six. The horse gets all the allowances and looks nailed on to win one of the biggest Flat races in Europe.

According to the trainer, John Gosden, Enable came out of the Yorkshire Oaks well and goes straight to France.

Enable is the best three-year-old filly in training and one of the best ever. As a three-year-old she also gets weight from the older horses.

Her form could not be stronger and at her best Enable will be just about impossible to beat. Any horse that beats Enable giving weight will have to be a world-beater.
